Created around Valentine’s Day, Bloom Boom is steeped in the atmosphere of love; celebrating my own relationship while witnessing love reflected everywhere around me. It carries that softness, that fullness, that electricity that lingers in the air when hearts are open.
I began with a clear vision: blush and peach unfolding into magenta, lilac, and flashes of periwinkle, purple, and teal. The palette feels romantic but alive with an ethereal, floral energy blooming outward rather than sitting still.
This piece was painted over a previous work, so beneath its softness lives history. Up close, layers reveal themselves in the form of ridges, texture, remnants of what once was. It’s a painting that shifts the nearer you get, asking to be experienced intimately, not just admired from afar.
